Line Improvements at a Transportation Facility

    How have we helped?

We’ve seen many manufacturers face constant challenges in cost, quality and delivery. Through each step, we work with our clients and stakeholders to solve these challenges — approaching each issue with practical, pragmatic and sustainable solutions. Our aim is to provide reliable infrastructure for our clients to continue succeeding now and in the future. These case studies are designed to walk you through how we’ve confronted challenges and the results of putting our solutions into action.

In this comprehensive case study we cover:

    • The cost issues the manufacturer faced, which was affecting their profits.
    • Logistical issues that delayed product amounts, deliveries and production.
    • Our strategy to implement a system that coped with back-orders and increasing assembly output.

    Challenges

When a member of MTG started their assignment with this major industrial transportation company in 2004, the client was losing money with long production cycle lead times.

    Solution & Result

MTG immediately began to focus on improving the process layout and better material presentation. With improved line balancing, the factory was able to significantly reduce the trailer WIP between each station.

The team addressed challenges concerning materials, storage solutions, paint jobs, component parts and more.
